BLAINE – Eight games in, and Lynden Christian football coach Greg Terpstra still hasn’t experienced defeat as a head coach as the Lyncs blew past Blaine 61-13 on Friday night.

Wright

Scoring was early and often for Lynden Christian, who went into halftime with a 48-0 lead. Also, out of the nine touchdowns scored by the Lyncs, they were scored by seven different players.

Junior quarterback Jeremiah Wright scored on two rushing touchdowns, including a 55-yard scramble on a pass-play, and senior Jacob Tolsma also scores a pair of touchdowns after he shed his #66 jersey in the second half, and put on #24 so he could play some running back.

Wright also tossed two touchdown passes. The first was on a 13-yard strike to senior Braden Kuik, and the second was on a 30-yarder to junior Tyson Bajema.

Wright led LC on the night in rushing (107 yards) and passing (110 yards).

Senior quarterback Griffin Dykstra also threw two touchdown passes, one on a 3-yard slant to senior Tyler Sipma, and the other on a 13-yard swing pass to senior running back Isaac Paxton.

Blair

In the middle of all those scoring plays was a 34-yard interception return for a touchdown by junior defensive end Treven Blair. It was Lynden Christian’s seventh defensive touchdown of the season.

Blaine scored two touchdowns in the second half when sophomore Colin Davis relieved Kael Evinger, and connected on a 55-yard pass to junior Riley Ihde, and on a 25-yarder to junior tight end Conner Dalry.

Lync senior Kayden Stuit led the defensive attack with seven tackles, two passes deflected and 1.5 tackles for loss. Lynden Christian also got two interceptions from Sipma.

The Lyncs (8-0) will close out their regular season on the road at Mount Baker (4-4) on Friday, and the Borderites (1-7) will travel to Nooksack Valley (6-1) on Friday. Both games are scheduled for 7:00.
