BELLEVUE – The Lynden Christian just keeps on rolling along, including rolling right past Bellevue Christian 49-12 on Saturday night at Sammamish High School.
It was a balanced attack offensively for the Lyncs who scored 42 of their points in the first half, while allowing just two yards. The Vikings only score in the first half came on a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
6-foot-6 junior quarterback Jeremiah Wright tossed a pair of touchdown passes and ran for a third while completing 12-of-15 passes for 184 yards. Senior wide receiver Tyler Sipma was on the receiving end of both of Wright’s touchdown passes, and he finished the game with four receptions for 84 yards, and an interception on defense.
Kade Eldridge had another strong game on the ground, rushing for a team-high 97 yards on just 10 carries, including two touchdowns, and senior quarterback Griffin Dykstra was able to run for a score, and throw a touchdown pass to junior wide out Tyson Bajema.
The Lynden Christian defense was smothering all night long, with 16 total stops behind the line of scrimmage. Eldrigde, Lane Dykstra, Dawson Bouma and Malachi Vander Mey each had multiple stops for a loss, and senior kicker Braden Kuik made all seven of his extra point attempts.
The Lyncs (3-0) will be on the road on Saturday when they travel to Royal (3-0) to take on the Knights at 2:00.
