RENTON – The Lyncs, playing their third Saturday game in a row, made quick work of Renton by defeating them 51-7 at Renton Memorial Stadium.
Lynden Christian scored all 51 of its points in the first half, and five of the Lyncs’ touchdowns came in the passing game.
6-foot-6 junior quarterback Jeremiah Wright had a quick night, rushing for 77 yards on just three carries, including a 38-yard touchdown run. He also completed 4-of-5 passes for 90 yards, with touchdown passes to seniors Tyler Sipma and Braden Kuik.
Left-handed quarterback Griffin Dykstra then took over, and quickly tossed three touchdown passes himself. One to Sipma, and two to junior Kayden Stuit, including a deep 75-yard pass down the right sideline.
Dykstra finished the night completing 8-of-9 passes for 160 yards, and he also had a 50-yard run from scrimmage.
Senior running back Isaac Paxton concluded the scoring of the first half with a 20-yard touchdown run.
Defensively, Lynden Christian got interceptions from Dykstra and Joshua Hubbard.
The Lyncs (5-0) will begin conference play this Friday when they host Nooksack Valley (5-0) at 7:00.
