YAKIMA – After dropping the first round game, the Lyncs regrouped and beat the Chinooks a few hours later in straight sets, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18 in the Yakima SunDome.

Kalama was up for the challenge as well, even as the 16th seed of the tournament, the Chinooks were able to stay with the much taller Lyncs the entire match.
A block by 6-foot-2 junior Alli Wright secured the victory in the first set, but Kalama got off to a fast start and led 7-4 in the second set.
The Lyncs rallied and picked up the win in the second set on a back court kill by junior Ellie Meyer.
The Chinooks once again jumped out early in the third set, this time leading 6-3, but well called timeouts, strong play at the net, and the all-around hustle from junior setter Ella Fritts got the Lyncs back in it. A powerful kill by junior outside hitter Etta DeJong finished the match, and Lynden Christian immediately celebrated as the season will now continue.
The Lyncs will play Lakeside-Nine Mile Falls at 12:45 today.
