
YAKIMA – The Bulldogs outscored the Lyncs 23-16 in the second half, but it was far from enough as Lynden Christian secured the 45-32 win after a huge first half to move into the semifinals of the 1A state tournament.

After jumping out to a 14-9 lead in the first quarter, the Lyncs shut Cashmere down in the second by not allowing a single point, and scoring 15 for themselves.
Senior forward Allison Shumate continued her dominant season in the paint as she hit on 7-of-11 shots and finished with 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Lynden Christian.
Freshman guard Tyra Dykstra came off the bench to hit 3-of-6 from downtown, and she ended with 11 points.
The Lyncs (22-3) will now take on King’s tomorrow at 3:45 for a chance to get to the state championship game.
