Three-pointers by Jaeger Fyfe and Pierce Brzozowski helped lead to a 10-2 start for Meridian, and the Trojans held on for a 14-12 lead after the first quarter.

Senior forward Talon Jenkins scored his 500th point of the season early in the second on a free throw, and despite Fyfe having to leave the game with 6:30 left in the second quarter due to an ankle injury, the Trojans were able to stay hot offensively. He did return.

The first half ended with junior guard Matthew Blankenburg draining a three-point buzzer-beater in front of the Seton Catholic bench and Meridian led 36-23 at the half.

The Trojans kept the pressure on during the second half, and were able to walk away with the win.

Jenkins finished the game with 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting, and senior center James Hedahl posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Brzozowski added 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, and Fyfe had eight points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Meridian (19-9) will finish its season tomorrow at 9:30 am by trying to capture the fourth place trophy against the winner of today’s King’s/Chelan matchup.
