YAKIMA – It had been 15 years since the Meridian boys basketball team took home a trophy from the state tournament, and by defeating Chelan 59-48, the Trojans put an exclamation point on their second best finish in school history.

Meridian started on fire, and went on a 19-4 run to begin the game, which was fueled by four deep balls, three of them from senior guard Jaeger Fyfe.
