Spencer Lee separates himself from his opponents.

DUVALL – It was a statement win for the Red Raiders as they traveled south to take on Cedarcrest, a new conference opponent, and they defeated the Red-Wolves 30-15 on Friday night.

Cedarcrest scored two late touchdowns to make the game sound closer than it really was as Bellingham looked dominant early and often. Senior Elijah Kongshaug began the scoring with an easy 23-yard field goal in the first quarter, but it was the second quarter when the Red Raiders erupted.

Fields

Coming off an injury, Spencer Lee was back playing offense after only being limited to defense and special teams last week, and he gave his team a definite boost. After making an 18-yard reception on the left side line, he then caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Morgan Cavalier. On the next series for the Red Wolves, Bellingham junior defensive back Isaac Ninneman tackled the ball carrier from behind, and his helmet knocked the ball loose. Lee scooped it up and outraced everyone 62 yards for a touchdown.

Red Raider running back Isiah Harrington scored a shifty 28-yard touchdown run just before half time. He also had an 18-yard touchdown run earlier in the contest that was nullified by a penalty, and it was a 24-0 lead for Bellingham at the half.

Junior fullback Jack Fields scored on a 2-yard plunge in the third quarter. He finished the game with a team-high 92 yards rushing on 18 carries.

Bellingham (2-2) will try to continue its winning ways when it travels to Blaine (2-2) to take on the Borderites on Friday night.
