BELLINGHAM – The Mariner girls swimming and diving team had an extremely strong showing in its first dual meet of the season on Tuesday by defeating Sedro Woolley 148-33 at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center.
Sehome’s athletes are a strong mix of returners and newcomers, and there were many district qualifying times. A few of them were even close to state qualifying times.
Sophomore Ana Zurcher was outstanding, finishing first in two individual events, and she also finished first in two other events as a member of relay teams.
The Mariners (1-0) will be in action this Saturday at the Mukilteo Invitational, which is held at the King County Aquatic Center.
