BELLINGHAM – In a tightly contested match up, it was the Storm that edged out the Lions 96-86 at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center on Tuesday.
Squalicum never swam away with the sure victory during the meet, as both teams took their share of first place finishes and traded points throughout on depth.
Lynden’s Sara Jones was less than a quarter of a second away from a state-qualifying time in the 100-Yard Butterfly, with a time of 1:04.17. Squalicum’s Emma Balogh had another very successful meet totaling three first places finishes, as did Jones.
Anacortes also remained very strong on Tuesday, and defeated Bellingham 127-58.
The Storm (3-2) will host Sehome (4-0) on Thursday, and the Lions (2-3) will host Sedro Woolley (0-5) on Thursday.
