After an impressive 18-2-1 season last spring, the Squalicum boys soccer team opened up its season with a big 3-1 victory while hosting last year’s state runner-up Snohomish on Saturday. Addison Shrock scored a pair of goals in the first half, one of them a header on a cross by senior, Kamden Fix. Sophomore Mason Lloyd scored a goal in the second half, while the Panthers got its only goal from a penalty kick in the second half.
Sophomore Nick Birnel was in the net for Squalicum, which also got strong performances from junior defender, Mason Kyles, and sophomore mid-fielder, Caden Seyler.
The big boot of senior defender Alex Everett was on the sidelines on Saturday after he suffered a concussion last week. He hopes to be cleared to play late next week, which should make an already strong Storm squad even stronger!
