YAKIMA – The Lyncs haven’t placed lower than fourth place at state in nearly 20 years, and their 63-50 quarterfinal win over King’s went a long way to keeping that streak alive.
Juniors Grace Hintz and Allison Shumate combined for 30 points to lead Lynden Christian in the scoring column. Hintz also totaled six rebounds and four steals, while Shumate shot a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor.
Sophomore Ella Fritts scored 10 points for Lynden Christian, and senior Tabby DeJong pulled down 10 rebounds.
King’s sophomore guard Kaleo Anderson impressed the large crowd with 22 points on 7-of 12 shooting.
The Lyncs (19-7) will face Deer Park (25-0) tomorrow night at 9:00 in the semifinals.
