On this day in Whatcom County football history:

1999: Nooksack Valley senior kicker Bob Pace set a Whatcom County record by scoring 13 kicking points in a 55-14 win over Sultan. He kicked seven extra points and two field goals, and still stands as the record 21 years later.

1999: Blaine senior running back Brad Scheib set a school record by rushing for 268 yards in a 40-0 win over Lakewood. His record stood for 12 years.

2010: Blaine senior wide receiver Todd Bird set a Whatcom County record by catching 15 passes in a 35-34 win over Bellingham. 10 years later, Bird’s 15 catches in a game is still the Whatcom County record.

2011: Blaine junior running back Mario Gobbato becomes the first player in Whatcom County history to score seven touchdowns in a game. It was a 61-34 victory for the Borderites against Bellingham.
