On this day in Whatcom County football history:

1992: Bellingham senior running back Chris Fowler set a school records by rushing for 298 yards and scoring five rushing touchdowns in a 49-42 win at Anacortes. Fowler’s school record stood for 22 years.

1998: Mount Baker junior running back Jim Schleimer became the first player in Whatcom County history to score six touchdowns in a game. He did it in a 50-28 win over Chimacum. Schleimer’s Whatcom County record stood for 13 years.
