On this day in Whatcom County football history:
1979: Bellingham junior wide receiver Steve Jones caught three touchdowns in a 48-0 win over Stanwood. 41 years later, it still stands as the school record, and four other players have tied his record.
1990: Nooksack Valley junior running back Dave Longoria set a school by rushing for 232 yards in a 21-6 win over Blaine. His record was broken three years later.
2019: Sehome junior quarterback Jacob Kaepernick tied a Whatcom County record by tossing six touchdown passes in a 40-0 win over West Seattle. The most amazing part is that he threw all of them in the first half!
