On this day in Whatcom County football history:
1993: It was Lynden’s first season in the Northwest League, and after three games the Lions got their first NWL victory in a 36-21 win over Sedro Woolley. Junior running back Ben Wall set a school record in the contest by rushing for 220 yards. His record was broken three years later.
