On this day in Whatcom County football history:
2011: Blaine junior running back Mario Gobbato becomes the first player in Whatcom County history to carry the ball at least 50 times in one game. In a 36-16 win over Anacortes, he carried the ball 50 times for 332 yards and five touchdowns.
