On this day in Whatcom County football history:

1977: Sehome senior running back Jim Lallas set a school record by rushing for four touchdowns in a 54-26 win over John Oliver, BC. His school record stood for 22 years.

1983: Lynden Christian senior running back Tim Vander Veen set a school record by carrying the ball 43 times in a 27-9 win over Lynden. He also totaled 207 yards in that game, and his school record still stands after 37 years.

2016: Bellingham junior quarterback Nick Knutson became the first player in school history to toss five touchdowns in one game, in a 56-47 win over Sehome. He also ran for a score in the contest, and 56 points is the most a Red Raider team has ever scored.

2016: Blaine senior kicker Kyle Sentkowski broke a school record, and tied a Whatcom County record, by kicking three field goals in one game. He did it in a 31-23 loss to Lynden, and amazingly, he did it all in one quarter!

2016: Ferndale junior cornerback James Hinson did the unthinkable, as he returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a 55-14 win over Stanwood. The Golden Eagles picked off five passes in the contest.
