On this day in Whatcom County football history:

1985: Sehome junior receiver Jay Reyna used his impressive 6-foot-5 frame to set a school record with eight catches in a 19-18 loss to Stanwood. Reyna would go on to be the special teams star at Washington State University, and his school record stood for 12 years.

1996: Mount Baker coach Ron Lepper picked up his first varsity victory with a 48-20 win at Lakewood. He would go on to become the winningest coach in Mountaineer history.
