On this day in Whatcom County football history:
1998: With a 49-13 victory over Mount Vernon, the Squalicum Storm pick up their first victory in school history.
2015: In a wild game that saw Mount Baker defeat Nooksack Valley 64-30, Mountaineer junior running back Jed Schleimer rushed for a state-record 521 yards while Pioneer sophomore quarterback Casey Bauman completed a Whatcom County-record 37 passes. Schleimer’s state record has since been broken, but both remain Whatcom County records.
