On this day in Whatcom County football history:
1988: With very little time left in a scoreless contest, Mount Baker quarterback Ken Gates connected on a long touchdown with Darrell Wilson as the Mountaineers topped Lynden Christian 6-0. Wilson ended the game with five catches for 117 yards and the lone score.
