On this day in Whatcom County football history:

2008: Blaine senior quarterback Daniel Gorze became the first player in school history to toss five touchdown passes in one game, and he did it in a 60-0 victory over South Delta, BC. Seniors Casey McCabe and Jacob Rogers each caught a touchdown pass, and junior wide receiver Trevor Chau hauled in three of them.

2014: Squalicum’s Nick Lucey picks up his first varsity victory as the head coach of the Storm, in a 55-13 win over Bellingham. Coach Lucey has since gone on to become the winningest coach in school history.
