On this day in Whatcom County football history:

1991: A fresh-faced coach named Curt Kramme gets his first victory as Lynden defeated Mount Baker 16-0 on the road. Lynden was led by the junior running back Scott Noteboom, who carried the ball 24 times for 122 yards and a touchdown. The defense also came up huge, holding the Mountaineers’ run ‘n’ shoot offense to just 65 yards. Coach Kramme would go on to a Hall of Fame career, as he led the Lions to seven state championships.

2008: Sehome senior defensive back Cory Boyd returned not one, but TWO, interceptions for touchdowns in a 54-0 win over Lynden Christian. The feat has only happened a few times in Whatcom County history, and is a record that will likely never be broken.
