McGhee quickly became one of my favorite players while I was broadcasting the week 2 contest between Squalicum and Arlington. The game was tied at half time, but the second half became the Declan McGhee show. He only touched the ball twice, but he made his presence known with a 63-yard interception return for a touchdown, and a 50-yard touchdown catch. His dynamic play continued throughout the season, and he was named All-Conference 2nd Team at defensive back.
