As I watch all the game film, and take notes on players, it’s very seldom that I write the following: “That guy’s a dude out there.” Vasquez played like a very select few. In his first year at tight end, his ability to make big plays really stood out, as did his 100-plus yard performance against Ferndale. He played all three positions of the defensive line, and usually was going up against someone much larger than him. His technique was great, and he ended up third on the team in overall tackles, while causing all sorts of destruction in the opposing backfield. And, to top it all off, he was a very good punter that had to make some acrobatic plays at times. He was named All-Conference 1st Team at defensive line.
