MASON JACOBY
Mount Baker – Junior – #4
6’3” 174 lbs – QB/CB
106-of-184 passing – 1589 yards – 13 touchdowns
28 carries – 12 yards – 3 touchdowns
15 solo tackles – 10 assisted tackles – 4 interceptions for 60 yards and a touchdown – 7 pass deflections – 4 tackles for loss – 2 sacks – 2 forced fumbles – 2 fumble recoveries
After winning the quarterback battle in the preseason, Jacoby went out and performed at a level that made his coaches extremely proud. Very even keel, he doesn’t get too emotionally high or low on the field. Great accuracy, and can unload the deep ball when needed. Also won the starting cornerback job early on, and he showed great strides there as well. Had huge games against school rivals, with two strips fumbles that he recovered against Lynden Christian, and two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) against Meridian. His 1589 passing yards was the second highest in school history for a season. He will return to the Northwest Conference 1A as the most experienced play-caller next season, and that will go a very long way.
