What an incredible season for the highest ranked sophomore on my list. He filled in at left guard in the beginning of the season, but his abilities on defense spoke volumes. When the Pioneers played a four-down front, he was menacing off the edge. However, when they went to a three-down line, his abilities to play in the flat as an outside linebacker blew me away. Not many guards can cover receivers in the slot, and he did a tremendous job at it. He has quickly turned into one of the best overall players when he steps on the field. He was named All-Conference 1st Team at defensive line.
