Filling the cleats of Matthew Furdyk at nose tackle wasn’t going to be easy, and Winterberg did it about as good as it could have possibly been done. The son of one of Lynden’s best two-way linemen of the 1980’s, he’s definitely a chip off the ol’ block. Was dominant at times, and had his best two games in the first two rounds of the state playoffs. He will be a valuable piece of the puzzle next season for the Lions.
