Whatcom Preps Analysis:
A battler on the mound. Really sharp break on his curveball, and he attacks hitters with strikes. Imposes a long stride when pitching, and is right on top of the hitter. Also played some outfield, and was a designated hitter from time to time. Always in the lineup. Aggressive at the plate, and supplies good power. Not only a workhorse on the mound, but effective as well.
Coach’s Comment:
“Anden made some huge jumps on the mound over the last year; he embraced the mentality it takes to be successful on the baseball field. He never let anything get to him and found ways time after time to work out of big situations. He allowed just 11 earned runs all year over the coarse of 45 innings while striking out 46. He also made the transition to the outfield over the last year and gave us some valuable innings in the field and some big hits at the plate. Anden has left some big leadership shoes to fill as well as a lot of innings on the mound that will need to be replaced. He has done a great job of mentoring the classes below him and has been a great ambassador (Valedictorian) for what it means to be a Blaine Borderite.”
