Pure toughness. And that does translate on the baseball diamond. He goes all out on every play, on every pitch. He also proved to be a big-time clutch batter at the plate. Another player with more walks than strikeouts, a rarity. Can pitch in a pinch, but his work in center field is where it’s at. Terrific speed on the bases, and out in the field.
Coach’s Comment:
“Lane was the anchor in our outfield starting in centerfield each game. His work ethic on the gridiron and toughness carries over to the baseball field. He’s a hard-working kid and rolls up his sleeves and gets the work in and work done. One of the things that Lane does a great job of is keeping our baseball team loose. He is just a fun kid to be around and he’s a well respected player in our program. He puts pressure on teams when he runs the bases. His quickness and aggressiveness allows him to score multiple runs.”
