ANACORTES (0-6) AT SEHOME (3-3)

Time: 7 PM Saturday

Site: Civic Stadium

When Anacortes has the ball: The Seahawks were held to under 40 yards of total offense last Friday, and it won’t get easier against the Mariner defense. There might not be a stronger 3-man front in Whatcom County. Bryce Andrews, Josh Dentel and Rylie Bair can all shed blocks with the best of them. Inside linebacker Dawson Smith plays with a controlled chaos that can terrorize opposing backfields. Safety Jay Travier is tied for the county lead with four interceptions.

When Sehome has the ball: The Mariner passing game has been strong all season, and quarterback Jacob Kaepernick is feeling more and more comfortable with unloading the ball down the field. Wide receiver Austin Roberts has been the main beneficiary as of late, as he caught seven passes last week for 173 yards and three touchdowns. Dylan Roberts is one of the best running backs in the county, and the offensive line has been steady all season. Junior center Quentin Icay has been great, always on target with his quick snaps.

Historical Matchup Stat: 10 years ago on Halloween night it was Sehome running back Justin Santos that trick-or-treated on the Anacortes defense. He carried the ball 22 times for 263 yards and five touchdowns as the Mariners doubled up the Seahawks 44-22
