DEMING – So far this season, the Mount Baker softball team is averaging nearly 12 runs per game, while allowing 1.5 runs per game. The undefeated Mounties did it again by topping Blaine 14-2 on Thursday.
Sophomore Kennedy West went the distance, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out four and only walking one. She also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a homerun, three runs scored and two RBI’s.
Kayleah Sleveland hit her third home run of the season and scored three runs. Erica Brown went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI. Kenzie Ross and Angie Tikhonov each had a hit and a run scored. Ross’ hit was a double, and she had a pair of RBI’s, and Tikhonov also had an RBI.
Borderite junior Mikayla Johnson hit a home run in the first inning, and she had 2 RBI’s. Senior Taylor Miller and junior Karin Wildermuth each had a hit for Blaine.
Mount Baker (4-0) will visit Lakewood on Tuesday, while Blaine travels to Granite Falls on Tuesday.
